TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OPPORTUNITIES THAT
THE SUMMER VACATION PROVIDES

Offer programs through your city
recreation dept.

Teach classes at summer youth camps.

Work with day care centers to provide
in-house martial arts programs.

Provide morning classes for children.
-
Offer a three month summer program
targeted to college students.

Establish a "get in shape" program
featuring flexibility and fitness rather than self-defense.

Provide a 40 hour course which meets
for one week with all day sessions.

Provide specialized classes.
(self-defense, weapons, forms, demonstration).

Offer free guest classes allowing
students to bring a friend at no charge.
These special programs can be done either
free or for a fee which will boost income. As an added benefit you will be
building your customer base for a stronger fall season.
OFFER SPECIAL EVENTS TO CURRENT STUDENTS

Hold camps to work on specific areas
of training (forms, weapons, breaking, kicking, etc.)

Have social events for your
students, i.e., softball, volleyball, swimming, skating parties,
lock-ins and picnics.

Schedule inter-school tournaments.

Hold special clinics with a guest
instructor.

Use regular attendance as a basis
for special recognition and awards.

Offer students an incentive to renew
their membership before expiration at a reduced rate or for
merchandise promotions.

Allow students to earn coupons
redeemable for merchandise by recruiting new students, regular
attendance and participation in special events.
USE INNOVATIVE AS WELL AS TRIED AND TRUE
METHODS OF ADVERTISING

Become visible in your community
by performing demonstrations at local festivals, parades and
community events (This will also help keep your students
involved).

Hold outdoor belt exams in a park
on the weekend to stimulate interest in your school.

Use temporary signs (like garage
sale signs) on street corners to offer free classes, include your
phone number. When calls come in, offer a free, one week
introductory program.
