PHASE KICKS

Any spin kick where you travel 180 degrees toward your target
as in the following:

PHASE II:
Any spin kick where you jump and spin 180 degrees toward your
target
Example: Jump Spin Back Kick

PHASE III:
Any kick where you jump and spin 360 degrees toward your
target.
Example: Jump Spin 360 degrees Back Kick
The following are the test requirements for
a 2nd Dan in Kukkiwon Taekwondo:
A. POOMSAE: The TaeGeuk forms from YukJang thru
PalJang (6-8) and Koryo
B: ONE STEPS: Minimum of twenty (20) one-steps with an emphasis on advanced
kicking skills
C. HOSHIN SUL: Minimum of twenty (20) self-defense techniques against grabs,
strikes, and stick attacks.
D: SPARRING: Minimum of two (2) minutes of free-sparring to show offensive
combinations.
E. CHAGI: All basic and
advanced kicking skills you have learned including flying, jumping, spinning
and multiple kicking plus the Phase kicks below (must be with more
speed and fluidity than a 1st Dan / Poom):
PHASE I: Any spin kick where you travel 180 degrees toward your
target as in the following:
- Spin Back
- Spin Heel
- Spin Hook
- Spin Crescent
PHASE II: Any spin kick where you jump and
spin 180 degrees toward your target
Example: Jump Spin Back Kick
There is a fitness portion to my tests too. Everyone
must be able to do at least 60 pushups in 1 minute (Note: If there is some
form of physical disability present, please explain)
F. BREAKING: Students must be over 15 years of age to
break on a test.
Boards: 12" x 12" x 1" white pine or the plastic
rebreakable for one (1) inch thickness.
Five (5) station break with two (2) inch at each
station
Speed break with foot two (2) inch
Speed break with hand two (2)
inch
Power break with foot minimum four (4)
inches
Power break with hand using concrete patio blocks of
8" x 16" x 2" ...
minimum three blocks
